After years of studying dry eye and recent advancements in the treatment of dry eye disease we have developed a Dry Eye Center for our patients.

Dry Eye Syndrome causes a decrease in the amount of tears that are naturally produced by your eye. There is often inflammation of the glands that produce tears. The front surface of your eye is normally kept moist by this thin layer of tears, so when only a small amount is produced, it will result in dry areas. If symptoms persist and aren't treated, it could cause a gradual loss of vision.
Although the condition cannot be cured, there are several ways of treating it. The first (and easiest) way to treat dry eyes is through lubricating drops and a nighttime ointment, which can be prescribed based on your individual needs. If these prove ineffective, silicone or collagen plugs can be inserted to close the tear ducts. In addition, prescription eye drops may be used to alleviate the inflammation of the tear-producing glands in the eye. Nutritional supplements may also be of benefit.
We will work with you to create a comprehensive treatment plan to meet your needs.
